Office Scene

There are many unwritten rules regarding the visa process at the Immigration Bureau. It is very important to know the rules and previous visa application precedents, as well as the immigration law itself.

As an immigration lawyer with 10+ years of experience and 10,000+ inquiries, I can answer the questions you may have about the visa process in Japan. You don’t have to waste your time searching the internet for uncertain information.

FAQ

Q: To what extent does the free consultation answer cover?

Free consultation is only by EMAIL and LINE. The answer will be general based on your inquiry and information. If you would like to discuss a concrete and specific problem, we recommend a paid consultation. Paid consultations include interviews (Zoom/Skype online available). Please make an appointment (Fee: 10,000 yen).

Q: Is there any limitation on the area?

Basically, it doesn’t matter for Online consultation (Email/Line). We mainly apply for visas at the Osaka Immigration Bureau, but also often go to Tokyo, Nagoya, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka immigration bureaus. However, the operations of the Immigration Bureau and the Legal Affairs Bureau often differ slightly depending on the region. In some cases, it may be faster to ask another expert (administrative scrivener/lawyer) near you.

Q: Is there any nationality or language limitation for consultation?

If you can understand Japanese or English, it is OK for anyone from any country. So far, we have experience with foreign nationals from South Korea, China, Taiwan, Mongolia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, USA, Canada, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Colombia, UK, Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, Russia, Sweden, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Sudan, Zambia, Kenya, Morocco, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, UAE, Israel, Australia, and New Zealand. If you don’t use Japanese or English, please ask a friend to help or use Google Translate.

Q: Who will handle the consultation?

I, Satoshi Kawazoe, handle all free and paid consultations. Since this is not a large office, I don’t leave or pass the consultation to young/inexperienced lawyers or staff. It may take a bit longer (usually within 24hrs) to respond to free consultations as I answer them one by one in order. If you are in a hurry due to an emergency, I suggest you make an appointment for a Paid Consultation.
